Hi Sorry to read this news I hope he makes a full recovery and in good time to. sometimes all that gear is wonderful. In my cousins case it didn't help, he was killed on his Dads birthday, leaving a fairly new wife and small child. His dad figured it was him and his family knocking on the door for birthday supper, it was 2 cops with the news!. My other cousins wife was working ER that day to she finished her shift 10 mins before he got there, she would of got a nasty shock to. You are very lucky to still have your son, and thats the reason I never took bikes on the road, we had them on the farm for livestock work and left it at that.. It might not be your mistake that kills you on a bike, more so than in a car or other vehicle. Regards Robert
