Lapping compound is found at automotive stores like NAPA, and at machine tool suppliers like MSC. It can be in water based or oil/paste type, in several grit formulations fro course 120ish grit, to 2000 grit dust like polishing compound. I do not know the engine, or the ring, so suggestions would be futile. (guess, would be 250 to flatten the surfaces (rubbed together) and 400 to polish for a seal). Clean carefully after lapping with carb cleaner to remove all grit. Jim
