I know you hate NAPA but even when I worked as a mechanic and most of the parts the shop owner purchased were NAPA we didn't have as many defective parts in 2 years as you have in 3 months.
NAPA did get a bad batch of reman water pumps back around 98/99. They immediately stopped selling rebuilds and found a different supplier. They were very up front and let all of their customers know what was going on. I believe now all they sell is new pumps. I'll have to check. So that problem was solved many years ago.
The bad water pumps were done by a company in Mexico. They were supposed to rebuild them What they were doing was cleaning them up, putting new impellers on and calling it a rebuild.
