Worst was in the barracks in Germany when I came in just a little too far gone to find the barracks holy roller chewing out everyone who came in after a night of drinking. I chased him all over the barracks before the MP's got there. Didn't get in trouble but learned valuable lesson.
Fast forward 10 years and back in Germany. A soldier of mine told me after a payday weekend, "Sgt, I had a great weekend!" I ask "what did you do?". He replied "Sgt I got drunk". So I ask "what else did you do?". He Replied "Sgt, I got so drunk I don't remember". So I ask "how long have you been gay?". He says "Sgt I'm not gay". I replied "well if you got so drunk you don't know what you did how do you know you are not gay?". When I left Germany a couple of years later he was a young newly promoted Sgt. He told me that what I said to him that day didn't stop him from drinking but made him a lot more careful! I ran into him again while I was out-processing for retirement. He'd made SSG by then and he told me he had used the same line with his soldiers!
