Oh lord, I could wright a book. Just one quick story that fits in a little with yours. Was at a guys house for another guys bachelor party. It was in his walk out basement and outside. He had a little fire outside to sit around about 15 yards from the house. He had a big round bale of straw sitting across the yard he had been using for target practice at different times. A young guy asked earlier in the evening if we could burn the bale on the fire. He said he could if he was able to roll it over and onto the fire himself. He tried, but just couldn't quit get it rolling. Later on about 12, he was going to try it again. I was a little awnry back then. I knew if he could just get it started he would be able to roll it onto the fire. So I snuck over in the dark and helped him just enough to get it off the flat spot. Course he could then roll it by himself easy. He rolled it right on the fire. Didn't take long and it was ablaze. Right about the time the women folk got back from wherever they went. The wife of the guy's place we was at, was not happy. And you know a big bale of straw burns hot and for along time and no putting it out. After a couple more hours the party was kinda over and people were going home. The fire still had along ways to go to burn out. He wasn't to happy about having to stay up all night watching the fire burn out since his old lady got mad. Me and the other younger guy stayed and kept him company. That was one party that turned into an all nighter I wished I hadn't been involved in. The guy thought it was funny tell his wife got mad. Then he was mad at us. It just wasn't to much fun to drink beer and watch a fire with a guy just to be nice and keep him company, while he is mad at ya. Party's sometimes don't turn out good and this one was one of them.

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
