Turned 59 years of marriage in July. Always wore ring until I broke my arm and hand swelled. They wanted to cut if off at clinic but I said no, get a string. My dad had used the technique in world war I to remove rings from dead soldiers . They could not find a string in the clinic but found a lady in waiting room with some yarn and used it . Soon as I could get it back on did so and still wear it. I actually wore out the first ring as it got so thin it was cutting into my skin so replaced it. I had to have this one resized a couple of times, once larger, once smaller again. Had to cut the wife's ring off due to her arthritis as it was causing lot of pain. She won't let me spend the money to put one of those clamp mechanisms on it so it lays in her jewelry box.

In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana.
