Got the gas Co. mess straightened out

Went to the gas co. this morning to get the mess I mentioned the other night straightened out, and was actually pretty surprised. I first explained the situation to the lady in the office, who then checked her computer. I had told her I called in about 3 years ago and told them to change things, and that I would call when I needed gas again. Sure enough the last fill showing on my account was from 2011. It was a fill from 40% to 60%, and fortunately wasn't for more because I had just pulled in the drive as their guy was backing up to my tank. Anyways, she said nothing had made it into the computer about that. Believe it or not, I don't know, but it sure seems strange why they haven't put anything in my tank in 3 years, especially if I was still on the "Keep Full" plan.

That all done I proceeded to give the lady cash to cover the gas they did put in, along with the little blocking plug they had used when they unhooked the regulator. I think the plug being in one piece, and not damaged in any way, kind of surprised her. I say that because she said what usually happens is that folks try to get them out with everything under the sun, and usually wind up accomplishing nothing but damaging the valve. Oh, foe what it's worth, she did agree with me in the fact that the product in the tank that had been paid for was in fact mine to use.....

Between their screwup in not having my account's fill info correct, having a contact number that I have never heard of, and basically the whole screwed up situation being what it was, she waived all extra fees associated with the disconnection/reconnection, etc, etc. and only charged me for the cost of the gas.

The way I figure it, at my current rate of use, I won't need to call them for more for the next 10 years at least....maybe 12 if I don't cook so many pizzas in the oven.....LOL

All in all it was a real surprise, and 'Mr Prick" didn't even have to make an appearance as I had initially suspected he would.....

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
