So I'm sitting here with snow blowing outside,watching science type shows on TV. They were just talking about thrusters causing problems on Gemini 8.
Something I've wondered since space travel began. To move something,you need force and resistance don't you? If there's no atmosphere,which is the resistance,when you fire a thruster,which is the force,how can it cause movement? Seems to me it would be like rowing a boat with the oars out of the water. I've always thought that.
Swinging a pendulum to change trajectory I could understand,but not firing boosters.
