It's pretty simple really... in classic view, the post stays where you damn well put it, threaded, flat... and easily found. I have no interest in sifting through all the crap in modern view to find the one post I'm actually looking for... and lo and behold, a reply gets posted below the message it's responding to, not on the top of the thread where nobody knows what in hell you're talking about or to whom... I really don't see any advantage to the so called modern view.
