The Olympics and the World Cup coming up in Brazil both seem like way too much money and resources being put into building big stadiums that are not really what people need in the long term. If we were going to have these big international sporting events at all I would thin it would make a lot more sense to just build a complex for winter and one for summer and keep going back to them instead of building a new one every time.
