I work on GM for a living for past 15 years. I have NEVER seen a 4.8-5.3-6.0 balancer fail, they really can.t. Torque converter bolts bout the only think I could think of, but that would be rare and would be short lived without major oil leak or failure. the engine isn t miss firing?? Check engine light on and flashing? Flashing SES light means misfire that can damaged that cat converters. We see a lot of camshaft failures and or lifter rollers pitting and going flat but don"t vibrate. Cams squeak and make noise and then misfire.
