I don't think I have ever posted any pics of myself or my family, but here's one of me and my daughter at the beach a year or so back, and another of my beautiful wife.

Around noon today, Nov 30th, I will have been married for 6 whole years. I don't think we've done too bad given that we met on Nov 16th and then got married a touch over two weeks later on the 30th. I've always said I figured I better get her on the hook before she figured out just how much of a PITA I can be......Hey, I tried to tell her, and my family tried to tell her, but she didn't believe any of us....now, after 6 years, I think, heck I know, she would agree......LOL

Seriously, since getting married we've been through he11 and back together and have come out stronger than ever. I am so thankful for the fact I was able to find such an amazing woman, and daughter, all at once. I am also thankful that part of her being so amazing is that she is able to put up with me....LOL

We began our relationship dealing with her daughters 'biological father' trying to force his way into the child's life. Long story short, there was no marriage involved, just a brief relationship, and he waited a little over three years to make an attempt to take full custody of a child he had never even met, and get my wife to pay him full support. Ultimately we discovered what we basically knew in the beginning, that being that all he wanted were his legal rights, and 'bragging rights' to having a child, but none of the real responsibilities involved with having one. Dealing with all his mess, and the lawyers, and court crap getting this mess taken care of hurt us financially to the n'th degree, but thankfully that whole problem will soon be put to rest. When faced with incarceration for the second time, for not paying support, (never paid a full month in the nearly 5 years since the order telling him to, and only $100 in the past year....) he has finally agreed to relinquish his rights and leave us alone. As soon as everything is official on that end, I will finally get to adopt and be the 'REAL' Daddy that my daughter want's, instead of just her 'real' Daddy like I have already been to her for the past 6 years. Too she will get to change her last name to match me and her Mom, something she has wanted since day one. To me the REAL part isn't that important in the legal sense, as blood never makes anyone a real Daddy. Still it will feel dang good to finally have a true legal say in things instead of having to basically stand on the side lines and watch as he was allowed to use the power of the courts to disrupt MY family's life, simply because he had once been a sp3rm donor once upon a time.

Too, things have been going good lately, and business has finally picked back up some. Although the times are still a bit tight, because of having to deal with the cost of all the court crap, things are definitely looking up.

Not to mention things with Dad and Mom's divorce are finally coming to an end and Dad and I have finally been given the go ahead by the courts to get all of our tools and other stuff out of his shop. It will be such a relief to finally be allowed back in to get my tools, and other stuff, that has been locked away from me for over 3 years, after Mom finally went ballistic on me one afternoon (she had already banned both of my sisters and I was the last one in good graces until that time). Now I've just got to figure out how to stuff everything that's mine again, and some other stuff dad is giving me, into my shop. Problem is it's already been expanded once in the past few years, and now needs even more room as it's still full.....Anyone got a spare aircraft carrier I can borrow for the storage room.....LOL

Ultimately it's been a rough few years for us, but we have come out of the whole mess stronger than ever before, and with our hopes for a better future finally starting to show fruit. In the end everything we have been through shows me without a doubt that there is nothing that true love, and family can't overcome....and for that I am more Thankful than I could ever express........

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
