As young as people tell me I look in person, I also get the 'I thought you were older' a lot too when dealing with customers. Basically I grew up with a Dad who worked at a few different equipment dealerships and have learned from him, and worked on equipment almost since I was in diapers. I've been splitting tractors and doing clutches, etc since before I even reached my teens. Too, I much prefer to work on the older equipment that the nw generation doesn't care about. Sort of gives me a niche market when it comes to work. Too, I just love to learn all I can about any and everything I can so, on top of mechanic work, I also do some residential and industrial electrical, tile, roofing, plumbing, framing, machine work, welding and fab, and anything else I need to do to accomplish the things I need to. To that end I tend to gravitate toward the 'older' crowd that grew up doing this kind of stuff and learning from them. In reality I'm still a young pup to most of the guys on here since I'm only 45 (be 46 in Feb), but I much preffer the company of folks that know about, and care about more than just the latest sports scores, or phone apps.....
