I had a problem with the carb on a miller welding machine. It has a techumseh 160. It would spew out raw fuel while it would surge at idle. Every time I took it apart thinking the float would not seat. I would get it to run perfect and put filter back on. The next day I couldn"t get it to start easy or run good. Well after taking it apart TOO many times and lots of prayers, we finally figured it out. There is a vent hole that comes from the bowl to the front of the carb. The gasket that goes between the carb and air filter has a nothch cut out for this vent hole. What happened was the gasket was stuck on the filter housing and I kept putting it back on where it blocked the hole. Lined up the right way and it ran perfect. Hope this helps someone else. God Bless.
