I have three siblings. One is seriously affected mentally. Two are(have been?) alcoholics. We(wife and myself) have extracted ourselves from having anything to do with most relatives, on both sides. It could be a long complicated story, but the short version is they all want one way relationships, with us doing the giving. Isn't it great that we can choose our friends!
