This appears to be a part of the omentum and looks similiar to a hernia, but is actually a hunk of fat like stuff coming out of the navel opening. Trouble is, the navel opening has already closed and is strangulating this hunk of fat. The bigger problem is, we can't push it back in, so it has to be surgically removed. If we leave it there, bacteria use it as highway into the gut, and the calf croaks after about a month. The last one we had actually had some gut attached to the inside of it, and as the vet cut into it to remove it, found out it had bowel in it. We lost the calf.
