I continue to have starting problems on my tractor a JD 2440 diesel. What I have done to try to correct the problem.
1. Two fresh batteries.
2. Had the starter rebuilt
3. Grounded the battery directly to the starter bolt.
It normally will start cold with no problem but when it is running for a while and reaches normal temp and I shut it down and try to restart it will not turn over fast enough to start.
If I close the hydraulic shut off one turn then it will start no problem. This leads me to to think I have a hydraulic problem. Will the hydraulic pump going bad cause the hard starting? This is with no load on the hyd. other than the power steering.Thanks for any help.
