YES! I converted my MF85 from gen to alt by using an alt for a MF175. I just took all the tach drive stuff off the gen and put it on the alt. It was a direct bolt up. Also added the regulator for the 175. Since then I updated to an electronic regulator that plugs directly into the back of the alt.
