amazing isn"t it? Friend of mine worked at a toyota dealership in parts dept. This has been going on for some time now and at one point last year the svc dept was doing 2-3 of them A WEEK. They actually go it down to the point they could do one in half a day. I don"t remember who"s fault it was. As in poor design or poor steel, materials. BUT gotta give toyota credit that they will change it out. I know it took some consumer complaints to get it to that point. in my opinion none of the BIG three would do something like this with out being forced to by recall. BIG 3 would say, ok, we prorate the life left on ur truck and give you X $ towards a new one of our new and improved trucks. Full disclosure, most of my cars have been Toyota since my 1st car in 1979. have to add that we have a "08 Saab 95. Now that I love. Pete
