Hello, I am going to convert my 72 Ford 3000 diesel from a generator to an alternator. Have already found the type of alternator to use...it is a GM 2 wire (hot wire and light wire with no tach drive) and the electrical hook up is very straight forward. But my current brackets witll not work and I do not have the tools or skills to fabricate any. I do have some examples below and am wondering if anyone has used any of them. The top adjusting bracket does not seem to be included with any bracket kit so am looking for ideas for that as well.
I really don't want to use the 300.00 plus alternator kit, just really don't need the tach drive and that is rather expensive.
I really would appreciate any advice or previous experience with how you did the coversion. Pictures would be very helpfull as well (by email if you like).
