Well, I did it. After 11 years of faithful service, I've retired the Suburban. Didn't need anything that big with the kids off to college and me just towing a 4 wheeler or the 861 around. Had 153,000 on it and needed brakes and some front end work. Finally decided on a 2013 Dodge Durango. Wanted something enclosed like the Suburban to keep all the tools and fishing/hunting gear in. Will take delivery on Wednesday. Estimated mileage about 7 mpg more than the Sub. although it's only the V6 version. Not the Hemi. Test ride was nice. Seemed like enough power when I kicked it in. We'll see how it does with the trailer @ 3000lbs.. Rated for 6000. I'll send pics when it arrives. Suburban trade-in $6100.
New Durango out the door $30,500. A replacement Suburban priced out @ $59,000!
