I always use a toothpick for a pin in the brushes. This won't short the brushes IF you should forget to remove it. Except for the brushes, reclocking a 10si is super easy.
Take the four case bolts out, separate the stator from the front cover and turn to the right position. IF you're careful and just loosen the stator with out separating to much might not need to pin the brushes.
