I've been monitoring the power meters on both the neighbour's solar power systems. The 10KW fixed unit generated 13,987KW for the year and averaged 38.3KW per day. 32% average capacity per day. The 10KW tracking unit that follows the sun up,down and across the sky generated 18,353KW and averaged 50.4 KW a day. 42% of installed capacity on an average day. Located on the east coast of Lake Huron.Winter days are noted for being gray and overcast.
Both systems were built as part of the feel good green weenie program in Ontario. We the tax payer and utility bill payers. Have been subsidizing a rate of 80.2 cents per Kw. Depending on the day and time there are three different rates. My average cost is 15.6 cents per KW. Nuclear and coal generate between 4 to 6 cents per KW depending.
