Or in this case, build your own solar panel. We did and enjoy a much smaller bill per year, used the dumb energy tax credit to our advantage, and get paid buy a local utility to produce the power. I agree the feel good stuff is dumb but if they're going to waste my tax dollars and I can get some back, then I'm going for it.
Now, if I could just round up a bunch of the welfare people to bale my hay for me since I'm paying them with my tax dollars...ought to be getting something for my forced investment. :)
