My favorite Uncle past a few years ago. He was not a Farmer but grew up on one. He had a long decorated Career in the Army..He did two tours in Korea and two in Viet Nam.There are lots of stories that I would like to share about Him but I don't think most would believe. I will tell this. He was General Westmoreland's helicopter pilot. Years ago Mom and Dad were on a flight back to Charleston. Dad thought the Man across the isle looked familiar but could not place where he knew him. So Dad introduced himself and asked where they may have met. The General told him who he was. So Dad says you don't know me but you know My brother Lou Berry. Without a flinch the General said "He was the best damn pilot the Army ever had". My Uncle was not only my hero he was my friend. Ron

Today's Featured Article - Recollections of a John Deere GP - by Charlie Cook. I grew up on my dad's 280 acre general farm in Western Michigan. Dad's only tractor when I was very young was the old GP. My first recollection of this tractor was when dad allowed my brother and myself to ride on the tractor with him driving. One of us would sit on the left fender (away from the clutch) and other would sit on the gas tank and hold onto the crankcase breather pipe.
