I may have an opportunity to change jobs. My current job is a good fit for me, minus my boss. He has held us all back professionally, and with our salaries and retirements, and does not know anything about farming or care. We get an IRA for retirement, which is better than nothing but not the best.
I may have an opportunity to get the same job in the neighboring county, same distance from my house, state retirement, and an easier person to work for. The only problem is that if I get the job, I have to take a civil service test and score in the top three after working there provisionally.
The test should not be difficult, but with this crummy economy, 20 people can take the test and I am the sucker fighting for his job. I have been down this road before, scored at number 6, lost my job. I do not want to go through this again, but it may be a great opportunity.
Any input is appreciated. You folks helped me with my dog in the past. You"re the best!
