Better add a diode to the wire coming from the starter to the +12v coil side. Been there, and found that the current running through the ballast would go to the starter and tractor will start and then die as soon as you get off he starter. Check an old post of mine, on this sight, titled "I should have done this a long time ago". There are pics of the diode explaining how to wire it. George
