Federal DOT banned all texting while in a commercial vehicle. There seem to be a lot of states that have passed laws about texting while driving. Indiana were I live passed it in July I think but really seems to not have any effect on people, cause I sure still see an awful lot of people still texting while driving. so many people I think live in the It wont happen to me world. Texting while driving is as bad as driving drunk if you ask me.May be even worse. Ive been a volunteer firefighter for 17 years and seen alot of really bad wrecks. I always kinda thought anyone caught dui should have to see what can happen first hand with pictures or have to go out and see what we see.I think the same is true for people who text while driving. I mean really, what can be so damn important that you cant wait till your at your destination to answer. I admit Ive talked on my phone while driving but its rare I do. Most of the time its only when its someone from the farm callin cause I know its important or they wouldnt be calling and I try to get somewhere to pull over if I can.
