Had terrible pain in the bottom of both feet when I was working on airplanes on the hardstand flightline in Air Force in Florida. I was 20 an never had had any foot trouble before...passed induction physical just fine. I thought it was probably those oversized GI brogan work shoes I'd been issued. Tried soft insoles and two pairs of socks...didn't really help much. Finally went to flight surgeon and he said to get arch suppports..actually he finally got 'em for me. I've got fallen longitudinal and plantar arches in my feet and they caused ingrown wart-like callous things, sort of like "spurs" on heels I guess. Anyway, I've never had much problems since wearing arch supports.
