John Deere "G" starter got weak and would stop. Called a repair shop mentioned by a club member, said he could fix it promptly. Took the armature to him. It had three segments pitted and eroded. He took a look at it, told me the reason the segments were eroded was that the solder connections from the armature windings were loose and not properly soldered. He said he could re-solder the armature, turn it on the lathe and it would be good as new. Went back to the shop in an hour and it was ready to go. Price: $10.00 That starter really runs now. I was surprised and pleased with the service and the price.
