I like them all. We had MF, JD, IH, Ford but no Case or Olivers because there was no dealer close by. Right in town, less that 2 miles apart were IH, Ford, MF, AC dealerships. The JD shop was only a few miles down the road, however, we never had JD until the new generation came out. Farmed 180 acre of our own and 400 rented with the Farmall M doing the heavy work until the JD 4020 came along. First combine was a JD bought in the late 60's. Up until then we hired it out. Farm was a victim of the early 80's. We had moved off the place in the late 60's with a relative taking over. He was a hard worker but got in too deep with Production Credit's high interest rates.
