A 10 ft Bush Hog has no top link, just the bottom pins. uses a cylinder to lift the rear crazy wheels. Before the manufacturers started making their cutters with a top link that has a little give. Everyone seemed to use a chain for a top link, including the state mowing tractors. Why would you depend on your implement to keep you from turning over backward? No it wouldn't hurt it. What will hurt it is running it into the dirt, backing it over 6 in trees, driving over someones spare tire. The list goes on and on. Vic
