I'd have regraded that big lump, in the middle of the lawn, prior to puttin in grass, but that's just me... Couple of tips for zoysia: you can burn off the winter dormant zoysia, in early spring, this breaks the winter dormancy, and kills any early season weeds. If you are in a greenie weenie area, which has ordinances against burning, you can spray over the dormant zoysia with roundup, and it will take out the weeds, without hurting the zoysia. 2'x 2' grid pattern of zoysia plugs took 10 years to close, around here. Your pattern should come together in about 3, I'd guess.
