Recently I had a nice little conversation with a local code enforcement officer who notified me they are strongly considering banning discing all together except for agricultural plots. Her reasoning was the massive complaints from local homeowners regarding the dust and more stringent air quality standards from local agencies. I politely told her that if such an idea went through that a large amount of insect species would breed more heavily in the weeds and that dust will still be kicked up nonetheless.
With that said what do you guys think? What do you prefer to do when merely controlling weeds and brush?
