Hi Dick, Then set the timing by rpm method. Run rpm too approx 1500, advance distributor until missing, retard until missing quits, retard another 40rpm and lock the distributor. It just has to be on the main jet when you time this way and not on the idle jet. See what you get now. Also since there's no response from the idle mixture I would reclean the carb again as it's still pluged some where. T_Bone
