I have a "49 Farm All H without a 3 pt. so I will need a pull type attachement. The area was logged and left for a bit and I just got done going over it with a brush cutter to chop the 4-5 ft. poplar trees and grass and weeds, etc. So now I need something that will break up the soil and also the sticks some branches and not be affected too much by some rocks, etc. primarily so the poplar trees don"t grow and someday to maybe plant something. I guess we are attempting to "make a field." Some questions. 1. Should I use a disc? a harrow? a cultivator? something else? 2. Should I consider one with hydraulics to raise and lower the attachment if it has that capability or not worry about that? and 3. How big an attachment will my old tractor pull? a 6 foot? a 10 foot? Bigger? Smaller? I am pretty new to this but love it! Any help or advice welcome! Thanks.
