BOB M. - Has Your SH got a lot of hours on it? My SH holds about 50 to 60 psi cold at 1650 rpm and idles warm at about 8 to 10. Warm or Hot it holds 38 to about 44 psi at 1650 rpm with 15W40 Rotella T oil in it. Mine has NEVER had the head or pan off of it. I know it's probably a little tired. It always got used like an M (Pulled Hard but put away dry) but probably doesn't have over 2000 to 3000 hrs on it.
