Thanks, p! There is no PTO. (Bummer) It sounds the same under load, but quiets down as you go down hill or momentarily as you reduce throttle. There is not a seal on the output shaft front end, just a gasket and cap. I'd appreciate any help. I can send you the parts manual page if you like. I have no repair manual. I have all of the gears working, by the way.
