Well your right.....there's not much difference between a 400 and a 450 to my knowledge. I have a drain plug underneath the rear end in line with the drawbar. Then there's a drain plug to the front side of that casing where there is a "swale" in the casting that slumps down. Then there is a drain plug in the bottom of the t.a. case as well on mine. I ended up taking out 3 plugs to drain and then I have two plugs to check levels with. Did Farmall pull a fast one on us and make a change between the two models? While we are on the subject answer me another question.....you got two gallons of water the minute you pulled the plug. I got two gallons of water when I first pulled the plug....and a guy up town that is having the T.A. replaced in his 450 also had over a gallon of water in the backend when they drained it to work on it. Where in god's green earth is all that water getting in there? There is not that much condensation that can accumulate that fast is there? I don't know how many years it's been since the oil was changed in this one of mine so it's hard to say but I have a feeling water must be coming in somewhere on those tractors......what's your thoughts? Have yourself a good sunday big diesel Rich
