I had an M that sat in the barn for ten years and I couldn't get spark. I took the mag to a guy who sat down in a chair with a piece of very fine emery cloth , he folded it in half and stuck it between the point gap and he rubbed and rubbed and rubbed, and he told me that when you think you have rubbed the points enough rub them that long again..then he handed me the mag and told me to take it home and put it on the tractor, about two lifts on the crank and it was running...clean the rotor and the terminals in the cap with fine emery cloth.
