After thinking about this all day i went home and counted gear teeth...Whats listed in the parts manual shows part #37 is to have 29 outer teeth and 18 inner teeth, thats 4th speed sliding gear.. Three people counted mine and it has only 28 (with none broken off) and it doesn't even touch the lower gear listed as "fourth speed driving gear", also with all teeth in tact. I have to conclude that someone has put the wrong gear in it at some point!! The "special 4th speed 7mph gear listed in the parts manual indicates it has 29 teeth...so its close but not correct.Again, anyone have any thoughts??? Am i right in that someone put an incorrect gear in it? It fits the splined shaft perfectly with no slop and everything else is good....
