Hugh, read some old strings about Hy Tran vs gear oil and noise. My 58 140 #1105 J has Lucas 80w-90 in it up to the drain plug by the left brake rod. But it whines quite loud in all gears. I can hear it over the engine and exhaust sounds. Its also kind of touch in reverse - wants to run away so I have to ride clutch carefully in reverse. Any thoughts? Is this normal?
