My grandfather has a 62 140 that he bought new. It has always scrubbed when putting it into gear and the trans. has always been loud. He said that while it was under warranty the dealer put 140w in it to try to make it easier to shift but it didn"t make much difference. He has run 90w ever since and it has held up fine and we have just put up with the scraping gears and loud transmission. I"ll second the fact that reverse is fast in a 140 and high gear is too fast for the tire size. We used that 140 and an A to pull tobacco trailers and the A would handle a load in high gear much better than the 140. Of course, 3rd gear in the 140 is not too much slower than high gear in the A.
