I have a 1940 A that is all set up as a 6 volt magneto system. This tractor was restored recently and now it is time to make it work rathe than just pull trailers. I have need to run an herbacide pump that powers a CDA spray head. The herbacide is pressureized from a 25 gallon tank to the applicator head by a flow jet pump that lists 12 volt 3 amp on the tag. I know there is a lot of discussion on this site about converting to 12 volt systems. I do not want to convert this and am wondering if I can run this pump from the existing 6 volt system without damage to the pump. The tank is trailer mounted and I could place a deep cycle 12 volt battery on it but would have to change batteries because we sometimes spray weeds all day. We have removed this sysyem from a 4 wheeler because this old tractor is way more comefortable and can hold a consistent speed all day.
