The tractor was running before. Last summer, my kids played with the old carb while the tractor was sitting in front of my house after I mowed the sides of the road. There was a t-valve at the base of the carb and somehow, it ended up out of the carb and stripped. Needless to say, the tractor never ran right again-belching black smoke when it started, sputtering, spewing forth a hail of soot and carbon. I had also had some problems with the old carb leaking gas, so I elected to park the B and replace it. In the process, we ended up with a New Holland and the B just sort of sat along with its sister project tractor. Now, I've realized that new machine has no soul and I don't enjoy it nearly as much as I do the Farmalls I grew up with. No instructions came with the carb, so I am in the dark here. I turned that center adjustment screw a bit, and finally got the tractor to start, but outside of that, there's noting else I can see to adjust.
