What have you guys done?

Rebuilt a D10 off of an H this weekend. To remove the carburetor body gasket, you must remove the pressed in venturi. The venturi in my carb was cracked in numerous places and missing some chunks all together. Since I wasn"t able to remove it, I broke the remaining pieces out and milled the upper carb body flush (no venturi). I finished the complete rebuild and installed on the tractor. Once I made all the adjustments, she runs like a sewing machine, and starts just as quick as you can bump the starter. So what I did seems to have no adverse affects on the operation whatsoever. What have you guys done when you encountered this problem? Does IH still make that venturi? Thanks! Billy
