I went and purchased a 3 pc micrometer set 1, 2 and 3 inch. I also purchased a digital 6" caliper. I am looking at the 3 inch one. I assume the 2 inches are a given. I am then measuring from 2 to 3 inches. I see a numbered scale under a knob on the knob. Then numbers on the knob 0-25 Turning that once around would advance 1/2 the space between the numbers Example 3.5 to 4. So if I am correct 2.373 would read 3.5 on the scale and betwwen the 11th and 12th notch on the knob?
