Help with a green one

I don't get a reply on the green board. So I will ask for help here. My dad has green blood.he has a 40-U. It has a clutch problem.when he pushs the pedal it creeps. and you can not shift.We put a clutch kit in it last summer. all new parts. Any ideas what we did wrong?
Here is a red question. I got a f-12 if I pull it 10 yards or put flat belt to the BN it starts good. If I try to use the hand crank seems like I can crank for ever,and all I get is a few pops. Can anybody tell me the right way to start the old sweet heart.
