On the 40 clutch...I think it is similar to my 430. If yo can't get it to adjust up it could be a problem in the adjusting cam, it may be badly worn where it fits in the through out bearing carrier. Other possibility is the tube that the through out bearing carrier rids on may be loose. Either way yo have to split it.
