The steering on my 330U had what I thought a lot of play in the steering wheel when I turned it. I took the steering box off the tractor and removed the gear shafts inside and found that the little nipple that runs in the worm was worn a bit. I took it and had a new one machined and replaced it as well as new seals and a gasket. Well today I put it all back together and found that there is just as much play as when I took it apart. What gives? When I turn the steering shaft the play occurs between the worm and the little nipple that runs the grooves. I dont need shims and Im pretty sure that more will not help either. Is there anything else that I might be able to do?
